The Android device will be exclusive to this wireless carrier

HTC Rhyme, one of the latest handsets that Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation brought to the market with Google's Android operating system on board, is expected to become available for purchase in Australia on the airwaves of Optus starting with November 1st. The handset will be launched exclusively on the airwaves of Optus, and is expected to be released on monthly plans that start at $29.

The mobile phone will be available in the Clearwater color, which means that users will not get a taste to the Plum color the handset sports in the United States.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the new mobile phone packs pretty appealing hardware specs, and that HTC had it targeted mainly at women.

The new mobile phone arrives on shelves with a 1GHz Scorpion processor inside on a Qualcomm MSM8255 chipset, and with the Adreno 205 GPU for increased graphics capabilities.

The new device also sports 768 MB of RAM, along with a 4 GB of storage. A microSD memory card slot enables users to add some more storage into the mix.

The new device also comes with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a 480 x 800 pixel resolution @ 252ppi.

On the back, the new mobile phone features a 5-megapixel photo snapper that sports LED flash and which can deliver 720p video recording capabilities. A front-facing camera enables video calling while on the go.

The specifications list of the new device also includes WiFi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, along with Bluetooth 3.0 capabilities, DLNA and built-in GPS receiver.

Moreover, the handset lands on shelves with Ambient light sensor, G-Sensor, Digital compass, Proximity sensor. As well as with a 1600 mAh battery inside for increased usage time.

The new HTC Rhyme is powered by Google's Android OS 2.3.4 Gingerbread operating system, with the HTC Sense 3.5 user interface loaded on top of it.
