Verizon and HTC have teamed up once again to offer Rezound owners new features and improvements that will enhance the overall user experience even further.

However, don’t get too excited as this is not the long-awaited Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade, but a maintenance update that brings new features and improvements.

The most important seems to be the fact that it enables global roaming for HTC Rezound. That means you will be able to take advantage of voice and data services in more than 205 countries worldwide.

Aside from this major improvement, Verizon and HTC have also confirmed that several games and apps have been updated, such as Let’s Golf 2, Data Widget and VZNavigator.

Furthermore, various improvements to Skype video call quality and BackUp Assistant connectivity and reliability have been included in this update as well.

Data connectivity and device stability improvements have been added as well by minimizing device lockups and resets.

Check out below other changes included in software update 4.05.605.14 710RD for HTC Rezound:

- Mobile Hotspot now displays correct number of connected devices; - Guided tour videos have been updated in “Basic Set-up and Usage Videos;” - Visual Voicemail has been updated to reflect the accurate notifications; - Apps such as Mobile IM, VOD, VCAST Music, Blockbuster and VCAST Apps have been removed.

Keep in mind that the update has not been released yet, but Verizon Wireless has already published the official changelog, which means that it shouldn’t take more than a few days to go live.

The maintenance update will be pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, so not all HTC Rezound owners will receive it at the same time.

Hopefully, HTC and Verizon will be announcing what Rezound owners have been expecting for a long time, namely Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
