The handset will taste Ice Cream Sandwich in early 2012

Verizon and HTC have finally made official a new Android-based mobile phone that will offer support for the wireless carrier's 4G LTE network, namely the HTC Rezound. The new device is expected to become available for purchase via Verizon starting with November 14th, and will be the first smartphone in the US to feature Beats Audio integration.

The said features was packed inside the handset as the result of the partnership that HTC and Beats signed not too long ago, and should provide users with great audio and multimedia experiences.

The HTC Rezound features a large 4.3-inch true HD 720p display, and is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8660 1.5GHz, Qualcomm MDM9600 chipset.

Moreover, the new device is packed with 16 GB on-board memory and with 1 GB DDR2 RAM, as well as with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The phone will also arrive on shelves with access to Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network, as well as with WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity capabilities, and built-in GPS/AGPS.

On the back, the handset features an 8-megapixel photo snapper with dual LED flash, auto focus and 1080p video recording capabilities, along with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling.

Other features of the new smartphone would include: HDMI (through MHL), G-sensor, Light sensor, Compass, Proximity sensor, MicroUSB, USIM/CSIM/ISIM, audio jack and Wireless Charging capable.

The new device arrives on shelves with Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, but will be upgraded to the newer Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS in early 2012.

Starting with November 14th, the new HTC Rezound will be available for purchase via Verizon and Best Buy for $299.99 with a new two-year contract.
