Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has reportedly signed a deal with Robert Downey Jr. to promote the company’s smartphones.

A recent article on Bloomberg notes that the deal would be worth around $12 million (€9 million), yet no official confirmation on the matter has been provided as of now.

As part of the deal, Robert Downey Jr. is also said to have a final say over creative elements.

Furthermore, it seems that the partnership will have the actor featuring in television, print, and billboard ads, as part of a new marketing campaign from HTC.

HTC has lost a lot of ground on the smartphone market in the last few years, and a strong marketing campaign for their latest devices, such as the HTC One with an all-metal design, could help it regain its foothold.
