Wireless carrier Sprint and Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC unveiled the first Android-based handset to boast 4G connectivity options at CTIA Wireless, and the first video promo with the device already emerged on the web. The HTC EVO 4G video ad comes from the handset vendor itself and is available in the company's channel on YouTube, offering a glimpse at what users can enjoy with the high-end cellphone.

According to the phone manufacturer, the HTC EVO 4G is “a wireless phone that is as fast as most peoples basic DSL and cable wired connections. Featuring a 4.3-inch screen, 1 GHz Snapdragon processor and the ability to connect to your HDTV for viewing HD movies this phone is built for rich streaming multimedia enjoyment from the palm of your hand or the comfort of your sofa.”

Announced officially roughly ten days ago, the new mobile phone has been since included on Sprint's Developer portal too, enabling those interested in building applications for it to learn more on what it can offer. Moreover, the wireless carrier released the Sprint Developer's Guide for the device a few days ago, of which we already reported.

Beside the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor inside, the EVO 4G also includes 3G / 4G connectivity options, along with Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR, USB port, Wi-Fi capabilities, a 3.5mm headphone jack, HDMI output, 1GB ROM, and a MicroSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The phone comes with a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen display that boasts an 800 x 480 pixel (WVGA) resolution, an 8-megapixel photo snapper with flash, auto focus and HD video recording, a second camera of 1.3 megapixels, XML/HTML browser, and a wide range of messaging features (MMS, SMS, Email, Chat, Facebook, Twitter). The handset is powered by Android 2.1 Eclair, coupled with the Sense user experience from HTC. You can check on the EVO 4G and on additional Android handsets on Sprint's Developer portal here.
