Mobile phone maker HTC has recently come up with a software update for its Touch Diamond users. The new update is said to work with the English (Pan Europe and UK), Italian, Dutch, German, Swedish, Spanish, Portuguese, Danish, Norwegian, and Finnish ROM versions.

According to the company, the new update comes with a series of bug fixes, including a problem with the phone's camera, which, when launched while the handset was running other programs, sometimes turned the screen black. At the same time, the phone used to cut off a portion of the video files that were played back on the device.

The new ROM update is also meant to fix a problem the device had with the speaker when audio files were played. The issues that used to appear included the music turning off and on after 10 minutes, as well as a buzzing sound or no sound at all.

Sometimes, the HTC Touch Diamond experienced some problems with receiving MMS while being in standby mode, and the new ROM is said to correct this issue. Another problem that is being fixed via this update is connected to the sound rendering, which sometimes used to intermittently turn off for a second and come back on when the music was launched via the Music tab on TouchFLO 3D.

The new software update applies to all users who have a device running the above mentioned ROMs. Moreover, HTC also states that users who applied the software upgrade before February 27 need to perform the process again. If you go for it, just make sure you take all the necessary precautions, that you have backed up all data on your handset so that you won't lose any valuable information or files stored on your phone, and that the device meets the upgrade requirements.

The new ROM update is available for download on the phone maker's website.
