14 DAY TRIAL // Today, Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC Corporation released a new software solution aimed to help its users easily connect and sync their devices with Windows-based computers, namely HTC Sync for Brew MP, which is compatible with only one device at the moment, namely with HTC Smart. Version 1.0 of HTC Sync for Brew MP has been just made available for download from the company's support site, this being the first such solution HTC launches for the recently unveiled HTC Smart.
“You can use HTC Sync to synchronize Outlook contacts and calendar or Outlook Express contacts between your computer and your phone,” HTC describes the new software solution. According to the company, the application can be used on computers running under Windows XP Service Pack 2 and 3, Windows Vista or Windows 7. Among the system requirements, we can count a 1GHz or higher processor, 512 MB of RAM or higher, 50 MB of available free hard disk space, USB 2.0 port, and Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher-resolution.
The downloading and installation processes are simple. Users can get the file from the link below, double click on it after the download is completed, and then follow the instructions InstallShield Wizard delivers. In order to connect the HTC Smart to a computer via this app, users will have to use the USB cable, then select PC Sync when the device asks for the type of USB connection. The HTC Sync app will start automatically when the handset is connected via the USB cable.
As stated above, this is the first software solution HTC releases for the Brew MP-based Smart, yet this doesn't meant that others won't come in the future. The company released a similar application for the users of its Android devices, and has updated it with new features and support for more handsets ever since. In case the Smart shows a good performance on the market, there are chances that another phone running under Brew MP will land from HTC.
