Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has just announced the upcoming availability of a new smartphone on the airwaves of SK Telecom in South Korea, namely the HTC Raider 4G.

The mobile phone is expected to arrive on shelves in the country with Google's Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread loaded on it, and with the HTC Sense 3.0 thrown over.

The handset has been spotted into the wild before, under the name of HTC Holiday, and was said to arrive on shelves in the United States as well, also called HTC Raider.

For the time being, HTC has made the new mobile phone official only on the South Korean market, with specifications that bring it in line with some of the latest high-end smartphones on the market.

The new device is packing a dual-core application processor, with each code clocked in at 1.5GHz, complemented by 1GB of RAM.

The handset also sports 16GB of internal memory, and offers users the possibility to add up to 32GB of storage space via a microSD memory card slot.

Moreover, the HTC Raider 4G was made official with a 4.5-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution.

On the back, it features an 8-megapixel photo snapper, with auto focus and dual LED flash, which can record videos in full 1080p HD resolution. It is complemented by a 1.3-megapixel camera on the front, for video recording.

The specifications list of the new device also includes WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity options, as well as support for LTE capabilities, and built-in GPS receiver, with support for Google Maps and other location-based services.

HTC Raider 4G measures 128.8 x 67 x 11.27mm (5.07 x 2.64 x 0.44-inch) and packs a 1,620mAh battery inside.

Most probably, the mobile phone will see a global release in the near future, yet nothing was announced on the matter for the time being. (via)
