Canadian mobile phone users can now purchase a new Windows Phone-powered handset on the airwaves of wireless carrier SaskTel.

None other than the HTC Radar that went official in September last year during the IFA show in Berlin, the smartphone arrives on shelves in Canada with support for 4G connectivity.

Users interested in getting one of these will have to pay $49.99 for it when committing to a three-year Voice and Data contract agreement.

The handset is available for $269.99 on two-year contracts, and can be purchased for $319.99 on one-year contracts. Those who will choose monthly deals for it, or pre-paid offerings, would have to pay $369.99.

Running under Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system, the new device can easily prove a great option for those users looking for a capable device at a low price tag.

The OS it runs under was designed to keep users connected with their social lives at all times. They can also receive updates on other areas of interest.

“Master social networking with an intuitive phone that has your life front and centre. The HTC Radar 4G uses Windows Phone 7.5 OS to make staying connected to everything a fun and easy process,” the wireless carrier notes on its website.

“Windows Phone "Threads" easily enables you to switch between Facebook chat, text, and Windows Live Messenger.

“Take advantage of a 5.0 megapixel camera with LED Flash to capture great pictures, even in minimal lighting. The HTC Radar 4G is a premium phone to stay connected to everything you need.”

HTC Radar was launched with a 3.8" Super-LCD screen on the front, and with a 5.0 MP camera on the back (it sports a front-facing camera as well).

The smartphone also features 8 GB of internal memory, a fast 1GHz application processor, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, and a Lithion-Ion battery that can deliver up to 8.1 hours of talk time or up to 22.3 days of standby time.
