Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC has been long rumored to plan the release of a new, highly appealing handset, called HTC Pyramid, and a new photo with this device has just emerged into the wild.

Coming from Techblog.gr, the new photo with Pyramid shows the device next to a HTC Desire HD, but specific info on the handset's hardware specifications did not emerge along with it.

However, from what can be seen in the said photo, which shows only the back of the device, we can say that it would arrive on shelves with off-center camera with dual LED flash.

Moreover, as a recent article on Engadget notes, the new photo with this handset shows that it should sport a 3.5mm headset jack at the top.

Previous reports on this device brought to the spotlight some other specs it would pack when made available, along with some info on a series of benchmark tests it was subjected to, which, surprisingly, were rather disappointing.

Rumor has it that the upcoming mobile phone should arrive on shelves with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, capable of delivering a 540 x 960 pixels qHD resolution.

Moreover, the new mobile phone would include a dual-core 1.2GHz application processor inside, which should be complemented by 768MB of RAM.

The photo snapper on Pyramid's back would be an 8-megapixel one, while being capable of offering HD video recording capabilities. On the front, the handset should also include a 1.3-megapixel camera with video calling capabilities.

This mobile phone should arrive on shelves with Google's Android operating system on board, though it's uncertain at the moment which flavor of the mobile platform it would be based on.

According to the news, the phone would be a GSM device, though it might be launched in a CDMA flavor as well, though under a new name, HTC Shooter, which was spotted at large not too long ago.

UPDATE: A second photo with the device emerged, via GSM Arena, showing the handset's front as well, and confirming that HTC packed it with a higher resolution display. The Desire HD boasts a WVGA (480 x 800 pixel) resolution, while Pyramid arrives with a qHD (540 x 960 pixels) one.
