Although HTC already confirmed it would push Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to most of its high-end devices, the company has yet to announce the complete upgrade scheduler. In fact, it’s likely that HTC will unveil future upgrade releases with only few days before they are pushed OTA (over the air).

In order to make the waiting bearable, HTC is teasing users with an “early access preview” of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for HTC Sensation and Sensation XE.

Unfortunately, this early access program is limited to a few hundred users and only in Europe.

The handset maker did not reveal which users are eligible for this preview program, but hands-on videos with this official pre-release of Android 4.0 for HTC Sensation and Sensation XE should start pouring later today.

Apparently, HTC will continue to offer early access to Android 4.0 for other smartphones as well, in the near future, though there are no other details for the moment.

According to HTC, the company “is doing something new and pretty cool in the coming days: we’ll be releasing an “early access preview” of our ICS upgrade for the Sensation and Sensation XE.”

There’s no telling when exactly HTC Sensation and Sensation XE owners start receiving this Ice Cream Sandwich update on their devices, but the company confirms it will be pushed within the next few days.

This will be limited in scope (just a few hundred users and only in Europe) because we’re still scaling up back-end resources for general availability worldwide, and our hope is people will play with it and enjoy getting used to the ICS experience with Sense. We’ll be doing similar previews for other devices in the future, too.”

In other news, HTC has big plans for this year’s Mobile World Congress trade fair, as the company is rumored to announce its first quad-core Android phone, as well as other high-end devices, including a tablet and a few LTE-enabled smartphones.
