HTC P3470 Launched In India

Available for 19,900 INR

HTC P3470, the latest handset unveiled by the Taiwan-based Windows Mobile smartphone manufacturer, is now available in India through authorized resellers, for a suggested retail price
of 19,900 INR (about $500 or 310 Euro).

The new HTC is one of the smallest and most affordable GPS-enabled smartphones. The handset measures 108 x 58.3 x 15.7 millimeters, weighs 122 grams and runs on Windows Mobile 6 Professional. The built-in GPS offers a complete satellite navigation experience, while Microsoft's mobile operating systems provides a range of useful applications like Microsoft Office Mobile (including Outlook, Word, Excel and PDF viewer) and Pocket Internet Explorer.

Moreover, HTC P3470 features a 2.8 inch touchscreen with 240 x 320 pixels, 65k colors and handwriting recognition, a 2.0 Megapixel camera with video recording, quad-band GSM connectivity (GPRS and EDGE included), Instant Messaging, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, Music player, USB and microSD card support to boost the 256MB internal memory. A Li-Ion 1100 mAh battery powers the smartphone, offering a talk-time of up to 5 hours and 50 minutes, and a stand-by time of up to 240 hours.

We are very pleased to announce this addition to our product portfolio, continuing our commitment to users in powerful and feature rich mobile devices to the Indian market."

Also known as HTC Pharos, HTC P3470 was first presented in February, during MWC 2008, and it was recently launched in Hong Kong too. The Pharos comes after another HTC was made available for the Indian market, the powerful TyTN II Pocket PC, a more advanced device that comes for a higher retail price: 33,000 INR.
