HTC One, the current flagship Android-based smartphone from the Taiwanese mobile phone maker, is expected to receive an update to the Sense 6.0 user interface sometime in summer, newly leaked info on the company’s plans suggest.

At the moment, the handset vendor is working on the release of Android 4.4.2 KitKat for the device, which will come with the Sense 5.5 UI loaded on top, but another update is planned for the smartphone for later this year.

In addition to a new version of HTC’s own user interface, the update will also come with a brand new iteration of the Android OS itself, it seems.

Furthermore, the phone maker is said to be working on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for a nice range of other devices as well, and to be planning on releasing it to them within the next several weeks.

The info comes from HTC insider LlabTooFeR, who managed to put his hands on a leaked update roadmap from the company, and published it online.

According to the leaked document, HTC One will get said KitKat with Sense 5.5 update in late January or early February, which is in line with what HTC has already confirmed.

Furthermore, it appears that HTC One dual-SIM, HTC One max, One mini, Butterfly S and Butterfly will also taste the new software version soon, and that the vendor is testing it for Desire 601 too, but no info on its possible availability has been provided.

As PhoneArena notes, Verizon's HTC DROID DNA (which won’t get Android 4.3) is also expected to receive the new OS version in March or April, when Butterfly S and Butterfly are set to see it.

The roarmap also unveils that HTC is testing the Sense 5.0 update for the HTC EVO 4G LTE, though specific info on when it might receive it has yet to be offered.

HTC has yet to deliver an official announcement on this, and more info on the matter will be available when that happens. For the time being, however, we’ll take the above with a grain of salt, though there’s a great chance that things will pan out in the end.
