Yesterday, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation officially announced the upcoming availability of the smaller flavor of its HTC One M8 smartphone, in the form of HTC One mini 2, and wireless carrier O2 has confirmed plans to add it to its offering.

Yesterday, two operators on the country announced plans to release the phone on their networks, namely Three and EE, but it seems that more of them will make it available for their users.

However, while EE has confirmed that the Gold flavor of the phone will be available exclusively on its network, O2 UK has confirmed that it will carry the Metal Grey variant of the device, though it has not unveiled info on availability and pricing.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the HTC One mini 2 was announced with a 4.5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 720p resolution.

The mobile phone is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, which is paired with 1GB of RAM, that should be able to provide users with nice performance capabilities.

Moreover, the handset was also unveiled with 16GB of internal memory, as well as with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 128GB of additional storage space.

On the back, the mobile phone sports a 13-megapixel camera, a BSI sensor with f/2.2 lens, capable of recording videos in full HD resolution (it does not sport the UltraPixel technology that the flagship HTC One M8 smartphone was announced with).

Moreover, the HTC One mini 2 sports a 5MP front camera, also capable of full HD video recording, which will certainly provide users with a great experience both when it comes to taking selfies, and when video chatting is involved.

“With a 13MP back camera, and 5MP front camera, the HTC One mini2 can take great pictures whatever way it's facing - from selfies to action shots. You can use the special features to make sure everyone looks their best, even after the picture's been taken,” O2 UK notes.

The handset also comes to the market with 4G LTE connectivity capabilities inside, along with the usual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC. Moreover, it sports a built-in GPS receiver, along with the entire range of common sensors.

The HTC One mini 2 runs under the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system, while also featuring various customizations and exclusive applications coming from HTC itself on top of the platform, such as HTC BlinkFeed, and more.

Mobile phone users in the UK interested in the purchase of HTC One mini 2 on the network of O2 UK should head over to the wireless carrier’s website to learn more on it.
