Today, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has made official a smaller flavor of its HTC One M8 smartphone, namely the HTC One mini 2, and wireless carriers in the UK have already confirmed plans to add it to their offerings.

Two operators in the country have confirmed intention to release the mobile phone, namely Three and EE, though only the latter has provided some more details on the matter.

Apparently, EE will have exclusivity on the Gold flavor of the new device and will also be offering it on its 4G LTE network.

Moreover, the wireless carrier has also announced that the mobile phone will become available for pre-order on its network on May 23.

The smartphone is set to land on shelves sometime in June, yet no specific release date for it has been provided as of now. Details on its pricing are not available either.

Three UK has also confirmed the upcoming availability of the new HTC One mini 2 for its customers but has yet to share further info on availability and pricing, as Android Central notes.

According to The Guardian, however, the mobile phone might be priced at around £250 ($418/€306) - £300 ($502/€367). Sources from the Netherlands, however, suggest that it could go for as much as €470 ($642).

However, more on this should emerge as the phone’s availability date approaches, and you should wait for that to happen before making a purchase decision.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the HTC One mini 2 has been made official with a 4.5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 720p resolution, as well as with a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor.

Moreover, the new mobile phone features 1GB of RAM, as well as 16GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 128GB of external storage.

On the back, the One mini 2 sports a 13-megapixel camera capable of recording videos in full HD resolution. It is accompanied by a 5MP front camera, the same as on the HTC One M8, which should offer a great experience when making video calls or taking selfies.

The new device is powered by a 2110mAh battery and also comes to the market with 4G LTE connectivity, HSDPA 42 Mbps, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and a built-in GPS receiver.

Moreover, HTC has loaded the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system on this phone, along with its own set of customizations that are part of the Sense UI.
