HTC One max owners rejoice, as the Taiwanese handset maker seems to have kicked off the rollout of the highly anticipated Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for their devices.

The phablet was launched on the market back in October 2013 with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, but HTC said that it would provide a KitKat upgrade at some point.

Today, HTC leaker LlabTooFeR has confirmed that the promised Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is now available for HTC One max in Hong Kong. Those who live in the area should look for an update build version 2.61.708.1.

Unfortunately, there’s no telling when exactly the upgrade will become available for HTC One max devices in other regions. We will keep an eye out for any additional details on the matter, so stay tuned.
