Today, mobile phone carrier Sprint has announced the availability of a new software update for the owners of HTC One max devices on this network, aimed at providing them with Wi-Fi Calling capabilities.

The new firmware release for the device, available for download as version 3.02.651.5, is meant to offer only the aforementioned capabilities to Sprint’s users, at least this is what the release notes available on the carrier’s support website unveil.

The smartphone has been already updated to the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system, and the new enhancement should make it even more appealing than before.

One thing that users should keep in mind, however, is the fact that the update will be rolled out in stages, which means that not all of them will receive it right from the start.

The new software iteration should arrive on HTC One max devices at Sprint over the air, which means that users will receive a notification as soon as it is available for their handsets.

However, they can also manually check on the availability of the update, by heading to Settings > About phone > Software update and clicking the Check now button. For additional details on the new firmware release, you should head over to the aforementioned page on Sprint’s support website.
