Although Australian carrier Telstra announced it would offer the HTC One XL this month, the operator was forced to push back the release of the smartphone.

So far, Telstra has not confirmed the exact availability of the One XL, but it did mention the handset would hit shelves sometime in June.

However, Android fans can now purchase the HTC One XL via MobiCity for $850 AUD outright. The smartphone is available unlocked and SIM free, which means it will work on all Australian 3G networks, including Telstra’s 4G airwaves.

Unveiled back in February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, HTC One XL has the same specs as the One X with one major exception.

The former comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, whereas the latter is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Nvidia’s Tegra 3 CPU.

The reason behind HTC’s decision to launch two different HTC One X models is the fact that Nvidia’s chipset does not feature LTE support.

HTC One XL runs Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system integrated with HTC Sense 4 UI.

Aside from the powerful dual-core processor, the smartphone boasts an impressive 4.7-inch Super IPS LCD2 capacitive touchscreen display with HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution, which features Corning Gorilla Glass coating for extra protection.

There’s also an impressive 8-megapixel rear photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080) video recording, as well as a secondary 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

The One XL comes packed with Beats Audio software and hardware for an immersive multimedia experience. Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic is included as well.

Last but not least, the HTC One XL offers a slew of connectivity options, such as Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot and Bluetooth 4.0, as well as TV-Out. Check it out here.
