The Taiwanese handset maker HTC has just introduced its flagship Android smartphone in India and now some of its older models have been discounted to make room for the HTC One.

According to AndroidOS, HTC One X and One X+ got small discounts in India, which will take effect in the next few days.

Even though HTC foolishly priced the Butterfly at no less than Rs 45,890 ($840/ €645) outright, it appears that other high-end Android smartphones have been priced appropriately.

For example, the HTC One X 16GB was available for Rs 32,000 ($585/ €450), but starting the next few days, customers will be able to purchase it for only Rs 25,990 ($475/ €365) off contract.

Another HTC smartphone that has been heavily discounted in India is the One X+. Although the device was priced at Rs 38,550 ($705/ €545) at launch, Android enthusiasts will be able to buy the HTC One X+ 64GB for only Rs 29,500 ($540/ €415).

Obviously, the new prices might differ a little bit depending on the retailer, but the general idea is that HTC is trying to get rid of older high-end smartphones in order to make room for the upcoming HTC One, which is expected to arrive on April 22.

As a refresher, the HTC One X is an Android smartphone equipped with a 1.5GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal memory.

The smartphone does not feature microSD card slot for memory expansion. It sports a more than decent 4.7-inch Super IPS LCD2 capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

The HTC One X+ is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal memory. This one lacks microSD card slot as well.

Both smartphones boast 8-megapixel rear-facing cameras with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as secondary front-facing cameras for video calls.
