The first carrier to offer the HTC One X and One S in the UK is Three. The operator has just announced the smartphone is now available for purchase online, in white and grey colors.

Customers who are anxious to grab one should know that both devices are available for free from £27 - £38 on monthly pay.

Both smartphones come with Google’s latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform and HTC’s Sense UI on top. However, there has been much talk on the overall performance of the devices, as both gathered quite a number of fans.

Both sides have leaked benchmarks on the Internet showing the superiority of one device over another, but in the end it’s just a matter of taste (and money).

Those who can afford the HTC One X are likely to be content with their purchase as the smartphone comes with a powerful 1.5 GHz quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor and an ULP GeForce graphics processing unit.

In comparison, the HTC One S is equipped with a dual core Qualcomm MSM8260A Snapdragon (Krait) clocked at 1.5 GHz, which is complemented by an Adreno 225 GPU.

Moreover, the One X embeds 32 GB of internal memory, whereas the One S comes with only half the amount of onboard memory.

Neither features microSD card slot for memory expansion, but HTC offers owners 25GB of free Dropbox online storage.

Each handset comes with an impressive 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

However, the One X sports a 1.3-megapixel front facing camera, while the One S has a slightly lower VGA secondary camera for video calls.

It’s also worth mentioning the HTC One X is really big, “courtesy” of a 4.7-inch Super IPS LCD2 capacitive touchscreen with HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution that features Corning Gorilla Glass coating. The One S has smaller 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display.
