Shortly after receiving the long awaited Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean upgrade, the HTC One X has been hit with a new software update.

The folks at UnleashThePhones report that One X is now receiving a minor upgrade that promises to improve the way the camera acts, as well as the battery life.

The update is only 3.42MB in size, so it will probably take less than a minute to download and install, depending on the network connectivity.

The changelog of this new software version reads, “battery life optimized with updated camera standby behavior.”

It is also worth mentioning that the HTC One X+ is getting the maintenance update as well, in stages.

Those who have yet to be notified on the update should manually check for it by going to Settings / About phone / Software update / Check now.

When I saw the Camera update I though I was getting Photosphere (Android 4.2). It seems like we will have to wait for that a little longer.

Since I received the update on my oneX the battery life has gotten significantly worse, not better. It's taking much longer to charge and the battery's depleting much quicker. Nightmare!

Yes - same with me since the update - phone pretty useless due to battery drain. 6 hours on standby at best. Anyone got a solution?

I just got my HTC ONE X my battery offently drop from 98% to 0 from 10PM to 7AM. It's seems that when it's on "idle" the battery drop really fast!!! Somebody knows how to fix it?
