Wireless carrier AT&T has made available on its network a new high-end Android-based device from HTC, namely the One X.

The new device can be acquired from AT&T’s website with a price tag of $199.99 (155 Euro) attached to it, with the signing of a two-year contract agreement.

Made official in February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the handset arrives in the United States with a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 and offers support for the carrier’s 4G LTE network.

The international flavor of the phone packs a quad-core application processor, but it offers support only for HSPA+ networks. AT&T chose the dual-core model to provide users with advanced connectivity capabilities.

HTC One X will also impress with its large 4.7-inch 720 x 1280 Super LCD touchscreen display, as well as through the 8-megapixel photo snapper it features on the back.

The camera is capable of 1080p HD video capture (60fps) and sports 28mm lens and dual-LED flash. It is complemented by a 1.3 camera on the front for video calling.

The smartphone was packed with WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities, HDMI Wireless, MHL port, HSPA+, LTE, USB, and built-in GPS receiver.

The mobile phone’s specs list also shows 1GB of RAM to complement the fast CPU, along with 16GB of internal memory and Beats Audio.

Moreover, there is an 1800 mAh (embedded) battery inside it, to deliver up to 8.5 hours of talk time, or up to 12.6 days of standby time.

Powered by Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, the HTC One X arrives on shelves with support for applications and games available through the Google Play Store, as well as for various mobile services designed for the platform.

Its maker loaded the HTC Sense 4.0 UI on top of ICS, with fast access to social networking and other features through HTC Watch, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube HD, Google Maps, Amazon Kindle, TuneIn Radio, SoundHound, Movie Editor.

The handset also arrives with preloaded apps from the wireless carrier, including AT&T Navigator, AT&T FamilyMap, AT&T U-verse Live TV, AT&T Code Scanner, myAT&T, YPmobile.
