Cricket Wireless has just announced the upcoming availability of the HTC One V. The smartphone will be available at retailer’s brick and mortar stores beginning September 2 for only $270 USD (215 EUR) outright.

The One V is the first HTC device launched by Cricket Wireless. The smartphone comes with Beast Audio, which perfectly complements the carrier’s Muve Music service.

Delivering the HTC One V to Cricket customers marks another milestone in the HTC One series. The amazing camera and authentic sound of the HTC One V are combined with a top-end design that gives the smartphone a premium mobile experience with broad appeal,” said Mike Woodward, president of North America, HTC Corporation.

As expected, HTC One V comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system integrated with HTC Sense 4 user interface.

Furthermore, the smartphone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 1 GHz processor, which is complemented by an Adreno 205 GPU and 512MB of RAM.

In addition, HTC One V sports a 3.7-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.

The handset packs a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording, which features HTC ImageSense technology.

Although the device embeds 4GB of internal memory, users can further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD memory card. It is also worth mentioning that HTC One V integrates Dropbox with up to 25 GB of free space for two years.

Cricket looks forward to a strong relationship with HTC. The HTC One V serves as a great first device in a soon-to-grow portfolio of premium devices at great value. At Cricket, we're excited to provide our customers with a great value in a high-quality smartphone such as the HTC One V that offers award-winning design, top imaging and audio solutions,” said Matt Stoiber, senior vice president of devices for Cricket.
