US-based carrier T-Mobile has a good deal on the HTC One S smartphone. The operator is now offering the device for only $149.99 USD (120 EUR) with a new two-year agreement and after a $50 USD (40 EUR) mail-in rebate.

HTC One S was initially available at T-Mobile USA for $199.99 USD (160 EUR) on a two-year term, but the carrier decided to cut the phone’s price to $149.99 USD. However, keep in mind that the current deal is only available until August 21.

In the same piece of news, major retailer Best Buy previously offered the HTC One S for only $99.99 USD (80 EUR), though it was only for a limited time.

Rumor has it that T-Mobile USA plans to launch a sequel to the HTC One X, which might be one of the reasons the carrier is trying to get rid of the One S before the alleged One X+ goes official.

The One X+ is said to pack a quad core processor clocked at 1.7 GHz and will be powered by Google’s latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.

Unveiled back in February at the Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona, HTC One S is a high-end device that runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform.

The HTC One S is pretty impressive when put against other dual-core, and even some quad-core, smartphones.

Still, it will be interesting how it will fair in comparison with the next-generation Jelly Bean devices expected to be announced this year at IFA 2012 trade fair, which is set to kick off on August 31.

HTC One S is likely to receive a Jelly Bean upgrade as well, though we’re still expecting the Taiwanese handset maker to confirm it. T-Mobile USA’s variant of HTC One S is now available for purchase here.
