Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has been long rumored to plan the release of HTC’s One mini 2 smartphone on its network under the name of HTC Remix, and it appears that the launch date for the handset is drawing near.

The mobile phone has already made an appearance over at the FCC, where it has received the necessary approvals from the feds, with model number HTC 0P8B100 attached to it.

The smartphone has emerged at the FCC with support for Verizon's LTE network on bands 4 and 13, while also packing CDMA BC0 and BC1 connectivity, which clearly shows that it will arrive on the network of this wireless carrier.

Moreover, the FCC listing unveils that the new device sports SKU HTC6515LVW, which has been already associated with the aforementioned HTC One mini 2.

The one thing that hasn’t been confirmed as of now is whether the handset will indeed be released on Verizon under the name of HTC One Remix, as the previous reports on it suggested.

However, should they pan out, the operator’s customers will soon be able to enjoy all of the features and capabilities that the smaller flavor of HTC One M8 was made official with not long ago.

As a refresher, we should note that the HTC One mini 2 was launched with a 4.5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering an HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution, and that Remix is expected to include it as well.

In fact, all of the features and capabilities that the One mini 2 was released with should make it inside Verizon’s model, with only a few modifications.

That would include a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, which is complemented by 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. A microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes was also packed inside the handset.

On the back, the mobile phone features a 13-megapixel camera with support for full HD video recording (it is not an UltraPixel one as on the HTC One M8), which is complemented by a 5MP front camera for making video calls and taking selfies.

The handset also sports the entire set of usual connectivity capabilities and sensors, while running under the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, with the Sense 6.0 user interface loaded on top.

Unfortunately, no official confirmation on the availability of the device at Verizon has been provided as of now, yet it might not be too long before the carrier reveals all of the necessary info on the matter, so stay tuned.
