HTC Hima will bring in some discrete differences

HTC Hima is one of the most notable flagships of this spring which we’re hoping will get unveiled at MWC 2015 in Barcelona.

Last week we told you the One M9 (or Hima) leaked in a press render showing us its back. The handset also got compared to the current M8, so we were shown that the new flagship won’t fundamentally differ in design from what we’re currently seeing on the market today.

Naturally, HTC will apply some differences but they are of a more subtle nature. An exclusive info coming out of HTC Source reveals that the BoomSound speakers on the upcoming flagship will be inspired by the design of the Nexus 9, which was incidentally also made by HTC.

A few discrete changes in HTC Hima get detailed

According to the information, Hima is expected to take advantage of an edge-to-edge glass panel up front which will most likely enclose the sound source. Hence the speaker panels won’t be exposed like it's the case with the original One and One (M8).

So we should expect the only cutouts in the edge-to-edge glass setup to be the slit speaker grills that stretch over 50% of the handset’s bottom and edges.

The cuts will be done in 45 degrees, just in the style of the Nexus 9.

Another detail the report shares with us is that the black bar which resided under the screen of the One (M8) and was home to the HTC logo will no longer be present on Hima. That’s because the plastic speaker panels used to cover the speakers and amplifier are taller in the new version, so the black bar is no longer of use.

The HTC logo will move further down to live on the bottom speaker panel. All these differences in design will overall make a big difference when one takes a glance at Hima. They will make the phone “slicker” and “more refined” compared to previous HTC phones.
