News about upcoming HTC handsets have become more frequent in the last couple of weeks, which is proof that the Taiwanese company plans to be very active on the smartphone market in the coming months.

We have already reported on a mid-range Android smartphone, the HTC A53, earlier today, but that won’t be the only device launched by the handset maker in the coming weeks.

As per @Upleaks’ sources, HTC One M8i will be launched soon in Asia and Europe. The One M8i will be available in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia, China (OpenChannel, China Mobile and China Unicom), as well as European countries.

It’s a different version of the multi-awarded HTC One M8, which employs another chipset and camera, but apart from these changes there doesn’t seem to come with anything new in terms of hardware.

So, the One M8i will be equipped with a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz (second quad-core CPU clocked at 1GHz).

Duo Camera on the back and 5MP camera in the front for state-of-the-art selfies

Instead of the 4-UltraPixel camera on the back, the One M8i will be packed with a 13MP + 2MP Duo Camera, while in the front there will be a 5-megapixel camera optimized for selfies.

The Duo Camera on the back will feature dual LED flash, but there are no details on video recording capabilities for the moment.

Furthermore, the smartphone sports a 5-inch full HD (1080p) display, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

Connectivity-wise, HTC One M8i will offer a wide range of options, including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC (Near Field Connectivity) and 3.5mm audio jack. The smartphone will also feature BoomSound audio technology.

According to the report, the smartphone will be powered by a less than 3,000 mAh battery. As expected, it will run Android 5.0 Lollipop with Desire Sense 7.0 UI on top.
