Soon after the official unveiling of the HTC One M8 smartphone, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation was rumored to plan the release of a smaller flavor of the device, and some more info it is now available.

Supposedly called HTC One M8 mini, the phone is said to arrive on shelves with the Sense 6.0 UI loaded on top but to lack some of the main features that the user interface arrived with on HTC One M8.

According to a recent tweet from infamous tipster @evleaks, the smartphone’s Sense 6.0 UI will not include features such as Zoe, Fitbit, Motion Launch, and Pan 360 photos.

Moreover, the phone has been spotted in a leaked press photo without the Duo camera on the back, which is one of the main selling points of the larger counterpart, which suggests that we’re looking at a completely different version of the One M8.

Based on the fact that the HTC One mini was released last year with downgraded specs when compared to the HTC One, the new phone was expected to suffer a similar fate, but it appears that HTC might actually take this one step too far.

The rumored list of hardware specs of the HTC One M8 mini includes a 4.5-inch touchscreen display capable of offering only a 730p resolution.

Moreover, the mobile phone is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 400 processor, complemented by only 1GB of RAM, which will certainly not be enough for those looking to grab a mid-range device in the form of One M8 mini.

The yet unannounced handset is also said to sport 16GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

The phone’s imaging capabilities should be a bit better than the rest of its specs, as the device is expected to include a 13-megapixel camera on the back, supposedly with full HD video recording, paired with a 5MP front camera for making video calls.

The smartphone should also sport a single LED flash module on the back, a metallic finish similar to that on HTC One M8, and the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system loaded on top right from the start.

No official confirmation on the device has been provided as of now, but rumor has it that all on it will be announced later this summer, so stay tuned to learn the news. Unfortunately, nothing is known for sure at the moment on its availability and pricing.
