Following the official release of HTC One M8 about a month ago, numerous rumors on HTC’s plans for the release of new versions of the handset have started to emerge online, and a new one is making the rounds now, suggesting that an HTC One M8 mini device will be released on Verizon.

The info comes from infamous tipster @evleaks, that proved a reliable source in the past, but that does not offer additional details on the release of the mini HTC One M8 at this wireless carrier.

Considering the fact that Verizon was the only wireless carrier in the United States to sell the HTC One M8 both online and in stores from day one, chances are that this rumor will pan out sooner rather than later.

No details on the specifications list of the device have been provided as of now, though previous rumors did unveil some info on what hardware users might expect inside the device.

The mobile phone is said to arrive on the market as a mid-range handset packing a 4.5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 720 x 1280 pixels resolution.

The handset might be powered by a 1.7GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, complemented by 1GB of RAM, and is also expected to hit shelves with 16GB of internal memory.

Moreover, rumor has it that HTC might pack the upcoming phone with a 13-megapixel camera on the back, moving away from the UltraPixel technology that it uses on HTC One M8.

The smartphone should run under the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and is also expected to feature the new Sense 6 user interface on top, the same as its larger counterpart.

Some reports suggest that the Taiwanese mobile phone maker might have the phone ready for launch in its homeland market as soon as the next month, though no official confirmation on this has been provided as of now.

Info on the phone’s pricing is missing as well, though PhoneArena suggests that we might see the new HTC One M8 mini released at around $100 (€72.5) with the signing of a two-year contract agreement, considering the fact that the larger device is priced at $200 (€145) on a similar deal.

Should the rumor above pan out, we might see Verizon releasing the new smartphone sometime in May (provided that HTC makes it available on launch day, as it did with the HTC One M8), so stay tuned for details on the matter.
