HTC One (M8), the latest flagship Android-based handset from the Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation, has started to receive the Android 4.4.3 KitKat operating system upgrade in more territories out there, including India, it seems.

The platform update has been long promised to arrive on all HTC One (M8) smartphones in the not-too-distant future, and it appears that users in two more countries, such as Canada and Slovenia, are currently getting it, the latest reports on the matter reveal.

In India, the software update brings along one very appealing feature, namely support for 4G LTE networks in the country, AndroidOS reports.

The new operating system version is being delivered to users over the air, and arrives on handsets as a large, 658MB file.

Although dubbed Android 4.4.3, the upgrade also boasts the features and enhancements that the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS version was released with.

In addition to the aforementioned 4G LTE support, the update also comes with a series of security enhancements, among which a patch for OpenSSL, which was discovered to affect Android 4.4.3 and other previous Android versions.

Additionally, the operating system upgrade will provide owners of HTC One (M8) smartphones with various optimizations for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and cellular networks.

Moreover, it brings along new versions of several applications, including Gallery, Camera, Settings, Sync Manager and more, as well as a series of improvements for the Sense UI.

Users in India should receive a notification as soon as the update is made available for their phones. However, they can also manually check on the availability of the new software refresh by going to Settings > About Phone > Software update.

As mentioned above, the update is also being delivered to users in other countries out there. Last week, we saw it made available for people in Australia, and it seems that it started to arrive in Canada and Slovenia as well over the weekend.

According to MobileSyrup, wireless carriers in Canada are currently delivering the update OTA to their customers, with various improvements inside.

Some of these include camera and Boomsound enhancements, the aforementioned security patches, and a fix for an issue that prevented the LED notification from working properly.

Apparently, HTC is working hard on making the Android 4.4.3 KitKat OS upgrade available for as many HTC One (M8) devices out there as possible, and it might not be too long before users in other markets also receive it, so stay tuned for more on this.
