Following its official arrival in Taiwan last week, HTC One (M8) is getting ready to storm the rest of Asia too, starting with Singapore, which should receive it as soon as April 5.

The new flagship device is set to arrive in this country with a price tag of 998 Singapore dollars ($792) and should hit other Asian markets by early May, a recent article on Cnet reads.

However, no clear-cut details on the phone’s arrival in specific countries on this continent have been provided as of now. Most probably, HTC will unveil such info as it rolls out the phone to more areas.

The new high-end smartphone has already seen increased interest from users in Taiwan and is expected to appeal to those in other markets as well.

Moreover, the fact that it landed on shelves weeks before Samsung’s Galaxy S5 and Sony’s Xperia Z2 should prove highly beneficial for it as well.

HTC One (M8) was made available for purchase in the United States, the UK and Canada on launch day, a move that no other vendor has made as of now with a flagship smartphone.

Most of the reviews it has seen thus far were positive ones, suggesting that the smartphone might indeed be capable of helping HTC regain some of the market share that it has lost during the past few years.

Last year’s HTC One managed to impress users as well, though the fact that its maker was plagued with a series of component supply issues hurt sales a lot. HTC One (M8) doesn’t appear to suffer a similar fate, which is great news for the vendor.

However, it remains to be seen how well the phone will manage to fare when Samsung and Sony finally put their own flagships up for sale too. The hardware capabilities of all three devices are similar, though HTC’s flagship is the only one to pack an all-metal, unibody design.

It is also the smallest of the three, due to its 5-inch full HD touchscreen display. The handset was unveiled with a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory, as well as with a microSD memory card slot packed inside.

HTC packed the device with a twin-camera setup on the back, as well as with a 5MP front camera, and with Google’s Android 4.4.2 OS loaded on top. Moreover, it included its own set of customizations on the phone, in the form of Sense 6.0.
