Taiwanese handset maker HTC has just taken the wraps off its dual-SIM variant of the One M8, the company’s latest flagship Android smartphone.

The phone was rumored to arrive in Europe and Asia since early last month when the HTC One M8 Dual SIM was spotted in Russia, and then rumors on its imminent release leaked online a few weeks later.

Well, it looks like the rumors were true, as telekom-presse reports that HTC One M8 Dual SIM has been officially introduced in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Android enthusiasts who want to grab the dual-SIM variant of one of the best smartphones on the market, the One M8, will be able to do so beginning next week for no less than €800 ($1,100) outright.

The smartphone will go on sale in Germany via major retailers Media Mark and Saturn, but it will only be available for purchase in Gunmetal Grey color.

Customers in Austria and Switzerland will be able to buy the HTC One M8 Dual SIM starting July 7 for the same price, which seems a bit prohibitive if we take into consideration the fact that the single SIM model is priced at only €570 ($780) in most European countries.

It’s also worth mentioning that the HTC One M8 Dual SIM is already available for purchase in Russia, probably for a slightly higher price.

Nevertheless, those who wish to drop the second phone they are carrying with them for the all-in-one HTC One M8 Dual SIM will be able to do so, if they can afford the upfront price.

The dual-SIM version of HTC One M8 will not be carried by any network operator in Europe for obvious reasons, which is why the smartphone is priced so high.

Aside from the fact that it offers dual-SIM capability, there are no differences between the two HTC One M8 models. The smartphone will ship with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box, with HTC Sense 6.0 UI on top.

It will also come equipped with a powerful 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor inside, accompanied by an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

The smartphone will boast the same UltraPixel rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash, BSI sensor and a 5-megapixel camera in the front for video calls and selfies.

HTC One M8 Dual SIM sports a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating for extra protection.

It will also be packed with dual front-facing stereo speaker with BoomSound technology and 16GB of internal memory, which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card slot.
