HTC has been rumored lately to be planning the release of a new version of the recently released One M8 flagship smartphone, supposedly called HTC One M8 Ace, and new reports suggest that it could unveil it as soon as the next month.

According to a recent article on ePrice, HTC could reveal the phone on June 3, with a design similar to that of HTC One M8, but with a more curved back.

For those out of the loop, we should note that HTC has already started to tease a new, curved smartphone, claiming that it will come soon, but without offering specifics on the matter.

Rumor has it that HTC One M8 Ace will be released with a plastic body, unlike the One M8, which sports an aluminum design. The phone was also said to be much cheaper than the original.

Provided that HTC indeed releases such a smartphone, it would be interesting to see how it will stack up against Samsung’s Galaxy S5 smartphone, which is now available with a plastic body.

HTC One M8 Ace should feature a 5-inch Full HD screen and a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor inside, while also set to replace the Duo camera setup on HTC One M8 with a 13-megapixel camera.
