HTC promised earlier this month that it would bring Android 4.4 KitKat on HTC One Developer Edition in about 15 days, and they did their part.

HTC USA has just confirmed that they have delivered the Android 4.4 KitKat update to Google, so the upgrade might be pushed on Play store any moment now:

“Good news, we've delivered KitKat code to Google for HTC One GPE. Timing of push via PlayStore to be determined by Google.”

Those who own the Sense-based HTC One will have to wait a bit longer for KitKat to reach their devices, as the Taiwanese company announced it would bring the upgrade to this particular model in about 90 days.

All in all, it appears that HTC is one of the first handset makers that, hopefully, manages to update at least one of its high-end devices to Android 4.4 KitKat. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
