Today, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has officially announced the upcoming availability of the HTC One E8 smartphone on the market in India starting end of July.

The new device was made official in four different color flavors, including Electric Crimson, Polar White, Misty Gray, and Maldives Blue, and should arrive on shelves in the country before the end of July.

According to HTC, the One E8 features a recommended retail price of Rs. 34,990 ($581/€427), yet users will certainly be able to purchase it for less than that.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the HTC One E8 has recently been announced as the cheaper version of HTC One M8, and that it has already arrived on shelves on some markets out there.

The handset comes with a polycarbonate body, unlike the predecessor, which sports an aluminum design, and arrives on shelves in India with dual-SIM capabilities.

The phone’s hardware specs are similar to those included in HTC One M8, with only a small set of changes, related to camera and internal memory options.

Thus, HTC One E8 features a 5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Moreover, the handset is powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, paired with Adreno 330 graphics and 2GB of RAM.

HTC also launched the new phone with 16GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 128GB of external storage.

On the back, One E8 features a 13-megapixel camera with LED Flash, f/2.2 aperture, and support for full HD video recording (the One M8 was launched with a dual 4M UltraPixel camera setup).

However, the same as its predecessor, the new phone model features a 5MP front camera for making video calls while on the go and for taking selfies.

The specs list of this smartphone also includes support for 3G HSPA+ networks, along with the usual WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC. There’s also a built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS support and GLONASS for navigation purposes.

HTC One E8 sports a 2600mAh battery and also comes to the market with dual front-facing stereo speakers with HTC BoomSound technology, which should be able to deliver a great audio experience. The smartphone runs under the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, with HTC’s own Sense 6.0 user interface loaded on top.
