14 DAY TRIAL // Owners of unlocked and Developer Edition flavors of the HTC One M7 smartphone can now download and install the Sense 6.0 user interface on their devices.
The update lands on these handsets as a large file, at 667MB, which means that users should consider downloading the file over a Wi-Fi connection, for a better experience.
Following the update, users will enjoy many of the features and capabilities that the Sense 6 UI was announced with on the HTC One M8 back in March, as HTCSource notes.
However, while the interface will remain the same as on the HTC One M8, not all of the enhancements included in Sense 6 right from the start have made it on the HTC One M7 smartphones.
Most of these have been removed due to the hardware limitations of the device, such as the DuoCamera effects: UFocus, Foregrounder, Seasons and Dimensions Plus.
The HTC One, launched last year, does not feature two cameras on the back, as the new flagship handset does, and it was no need for these software features on the older model.
At the same time, it seems that the Motion Gestures have not been pushed to HTC One M7 as part of the Sense 6 update either.
Even so, users will enjoy capabilities such as color-coded themes for easy navigation, personalized font style, and the brand-new Extreme Power Saving Mode. At the same time, following the update, users will see that a button to clear all recent apps has been added to their smartphones.
The Gallery and Camera apps on HTC One M7 will feature a new UI after installing the new software release, and users will also enjoy Image Match for finding photos faster and easier.
Other great enhancements have been added to phone as well, including support for POI (Point of Interest) location in map view, a smoother Blinkfeed, and more.

Users will receive a notification on the availability of this update on their devices, and they will be able to download and install it right away, should they want to.
However, they can also manually check on the availability of the update by going to Settings > About Phone > Software update and then hitting the Check now button.
