A new firmware is currently being delivered to the owners of HTC One Developer Edition smartphones, namely version 1.29.1540.16, with various system improvements packed inside.

No specific info on what these enhancements are all about has been provided as of now, but HTC has reportedly confirmed that the update is meant mainly to address the stability of the Developer Edition device.

Following the update, the HTC One remains on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, though the new software might be set to pave the way towards the release of Android 4.2.2 for it.

The new firmware will be delivered to HTC One Developer Edition devices over the air within the next week or two, HTC Source notes. However, users can also check for its availability by going to Settings > About > Software update > Check now.
