Although HTC One has yet to make its entrance in the United States, the Taiwanese company has just announced the upcoming availability of the HTC One Developer Edition.

This version of HTC One will come with SIM and Bootloader unlocked, but it will not support all networks in the US.

According to HTC, the handset will be compatible with the following frequencies: HSPA/WCDMA (850/1900/2100 MHz), GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and LTE (700/850/AWS/1900 MHz US).

Given the fact that it misses AWS HSPA/WCDMA compatibility, Android enthusiasts won’t be able to use it with T-Mobile, at least until the Magenta carrier lights up its LTE network.

Anyway, expect HTC One Developer Edition to be available “in limited quantities” to customers within the United States for no less than $650/€500 outright. The smartphone will go on sale at the same time as the standard version of HTC One, probably in late March / early April.

It is also worth mentioning that HTC One Developer Edition will come packed with 64GB of internal memory, 2GB of RAM and it will be fully made of metal.

The phone will be powered by the same 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor which is included with the other versions as well.

HTC is also mentioning that the device aimed at developers will feature open APIs for Bluetooth Low Energy, Infrared and more, as well as two dual-membrane microphones for recording, along with front-facing stereo speakers.

Another powerful trait of the HTC One Developer Edition is the stunning 4.7-inch Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.

Last but not least, the device sports the innovative 4-UltraPixel photo snapper, which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, and goes along with the 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.
