HTC One is the first smartphone that comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor. LG Optimus G Pro is likely to be the second as the phone will go on sale after the HTC One.

But how good is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 processor in comparison with today’s CPUs? Well, it looks like the folks over at Slashgear were able to put it to test while they were at HTC’s launch event that made One official.

Suffice to say, HTC One surpassed any expectations and scored an amazing 12,500 points on Quadrant. That is the best result ever scored by an Android device. HTC One X, Asus Transformer Prime and ATRIX 4G were next in line.

It is also worth mentioning that Nexus 4 “only” scored around 5000 points on Quadrant, even though it comes equipped with a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset.

According to Qualcomm, its new Snapdragon 600 processor based on Krait 300 architecture is 40% more powerful than its previous Snapdragon S4 Pro generation of CPUs.

Qualcomm’s statement seems to be backed by the new benchmark results scored by devices such as HTC One, which are equipped with the Snapdragon 600 processor.

Aside from the powered CPU, HTC One is equipped with 2GB of RAM and an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit, which, again, is arguably one of the most powerful on the market.

The JavaScript performance of the smartphone is no less impressive either. HTC One returned a low score of 1,195ms in SunSpider, which makes it one of the fastest on the market.

Obviously, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz is to be credited for HTC One’s benchmark’s performances, but the Taiwanese company made some software innovations of its own.

For the time being, HTC One is the most powered Android device soon to be available on the market, but with Mobile World Congress 2013 just around the corner, it will be interesting to see for how long it will keep this title.
