There are only several hours left until Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation makes its All New HTC One smartphone official, and some more info on the device is now available.

The phone has been detailed a few times before, and a new video that compares it to last year’s HTC One flagship device can now be seen online.

Called HTC One 2014 (codenamed M8), to distinguish it from the HTC One that arrived in 2013 (model M7), the upcoming handset will have to offer a nice range of enhancements, though it will keep the same looks as its predecessor.

This was said about it before, and the new comparison video, which can be seen embedded above (via BGR India), confirms it once again.

Both handsets arrive on the market with an aluminum body and both of them feature BoomSound technology inside, with dual front speakers for a better overall audio experience.

The HTC One 2014, however, is larger than its predecessor and also comes with various enhancements, starting with the camera, processor, and more.

The phone features a 5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 1080p resolution, which also offers a 440ppi pixel resolution.

Moreover, it also comes with a 5MP front camera, great for making video calls and taking selfies, and sports two 4MP UltraPixel cameras on the back, with dual-LED flash.

Inside, the smartphone packs a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 330 GPU, which should offer increased performance capabilities when compared to last year’s flagship.

Moreover, HTC One 2014 has a 2600mAh battery, while running under the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system, with HTC’s Sense 6 user interface loaded on top.

The UI should provide users with a nice range of new features and capabilities when compared to the Sense 5.5 version currently available on HTC One. However, rumor has it that HTC is already working on bringing it to last year’s devices and that it might do so in the next three or four months.

As the video above shows, the software improvements included in the upcoming handset are expected to make it highly appealing. The performance capabilities of the device were also greatly improved, which should be another strong selling point for it.

In all fairness, the HTC One 2014 is not official as of now, and there’s no telling on whether the specs and features detailed above will indeed make it inside the phone, but things already appear carved in stone.

The new info on the handset falls in line with what was known on it before, and there’s actually little left for the Taiwanese handset vendor to announce later today. However, the phone’s availability and pricing are not known for the time being.
