One of the handsets long rumored to arrive on shelves before the end of this year was the HTC One M8 Prime, but it seems that the Taiwanese mobile phone maker might have decided to never bring it to the market.

According to info coming from @evleaks, HTC has suspended the development of this device indefinitely, and no info on whether it will actually release it is available as of now.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the HTC One M8 Prime was expected to arrive on shelves as a premium version of the HTC One M8 that went official in late March this year.

The phone was said to land on the market with a 5.5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, as well as with a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 APQ8084 processor inside.

Moreover, the handset was expected to sport 3GB of RAM, while replacing the dual-camera setup present on the back of One M8 with a single, 18-megapixel camera.

For the time being, no official confirmation on the existence of HTC One M8 Prime has been provided, and it seems that it might take a while before HTC announces it – provided that it will actually do so – now that the development of the device has been suspended.
