Developed for low-power QVGA devices

One of the mobile phones running under Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system that Taiwanese company HTC Corporation is expected to release into the wild is the HTC Mega, which has been recently spotted along with HTC Leo and a few other handsets. While already confirmed in a way via a filing with the Wi-Fi Alliance, now things are getting a little bit more serious, as the ROM of the handset was reportedly leaked.

The guys over at the XDA-Developers already shared a few details on the upcoming handset and on the software it will pack, and the HTC Mega ROM is also available for download on their site. Although unannounced yet, it seems that the mobile phone could be heading our way in the near future since, if we're not mistaken, the official launch usually follows shortly after the leaked ROMs surface.

One way or the other, the good news is that we can have a look at the user interface that the upcoming device is expected to sport. What can be said right from the start is that it seems to bear features both from the recently launched HTC Sense UI (the colors and icons remind us of the Android-powered HTC Hero) as well as from the original TouchFlo2D.

All looks good in the end and the only problem seems to be the fact that it only supports QVGA resolutions. Considering the fact that the TouchFLO 3D v.2.5 is almost here, this is unlikely to change. Even so, the user interface suggests that the HTC Mega will come to the market with the next iteration of Microsoft's platform right from the start, as it seems to provide support for WM 6.5 alone. Those who would like to download the package to learn a few more details can do so from the XDA-Developers site.
