The smartphone has been revealed as HTC One successor

Nokia has managed to ban HTC One mini sales in the UK effective December 6, after a London judge granted an injunction that would prevent the import of the device in the country.

The bad news is that the Taiwanese company's HTC One has also been proven infringing one of Nokia's patents, but Judge Richard Arnold decided against banning this device as well due to the considerable damage it could bring to the handset maker.

However, Arnold's decision was based on multiple factors. One of these reasons is that HTC does not plan to use the same piece of hardware that infringes Nokia's patents in the next flagship smartphone.

BBC reports that, according to Judge Richard Arnold's ruling, the so-called HTC One Two, also known as HTC M8 will be launched in Q1 2014 and it won't be equipped with any chips that might infringe any patents:

“HTC is close to launching the successor flagship model to the HTC One. HTC has not revealed the launch date. Nokia has adduced evidence which suggests that the launch date is in the first quarter of 2014 and possibly as early as February 2014.

“HTC has not contradicted this. HTC's evidence is that the new phone will not contain any chips which have been found to infringe the Patent,” wrote Judge Richard Arnold.

HTC M8 leaked a few months ago and speculations point to a Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2014 announcement. The M8 is said to arrive with the latest version of Android platform onboard and a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2 GHz.

In addition, the device is rumored to boast a 5-inch full HD capacitive touchscreen display, along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory.

The usual 4-UltraPixel photo snapper will be packed on the back of the phone, while in the front, the M8 will feature a secondary camera for video calls.
