The phone might look differently when made official

HTC M8, the upcoming flagship smartphone from Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation, has made it online quite a few times in the past several months, but it is still largely a mystery, at least as far as its outer design is concerned.

Various leaked photos with the device did emerge online lately, though no confirmation on them has been provided as of now, especially with some of the handset’s design details being inconsistent from a leaked image to the other.

Courtesy of XDA-Developers Forum member hamdir, however, we can now make a better idea of what the device might look like.

The user has published a series of renders with the HTC M8, as can be seen in this thread, though it should be noted right from the start that these are not official press photos with the phone.

Of course, the renders are said to be based on the vast series of leaked info on the device, though it might take a while before HTC actually releases press images with the phone.

In addition to rendering the HTC M8 in line with the leaks, the designer also compared it to last year’s HTC One, so that we could make a better idea of how similar the two will look.

The updated Sense 6.0 UI of the smartphone has been redesigned as well, and it should be largely in line with what HTC might make official when announcing the new device.

For the time being, however, keep in mind that these are only mockups with the smartphone, and that the actual phone might look differently (if not radically, at least when it comes to a series of small details).

HTC M8 should sport a 5-inch screen, a small bezel, quad-core CPU inside, and twin 4MP UltraPixel cameras on the back. It will run under Android 4.4 KitKat right from the start, rumor has it.
