It's been less than two months since HTC DROID DNA made its way onto the market and the Taiwanese handset maker is readying another flagship smarpthone.

Focus Taiwan reports the company plans to launch a certain HTC M7, which is now in a development stage.

Although there are only a few details on the phone's specs sheet, sources close to the matter claim HTC is determined to launch it one or two months earlier than Samsung's next Galaxy S flagship handset.

This means that we should expect the Taiwanese company to announce the M7 next month at CES 2013 or in late February, at MWC 2013.

Given the fact that Samsung usually announces its next-generation Galaxy S smartphone in Barcelona, at Mobile World Congress, and launches it on the market a few weeks or month later, it stands to reason that HTC M7 should hit shelves sometime in February/March.

Obviously, these are simple speculations, but if HTC manages to pull this one up it will give the company a slight advantage over its main rivals.

So far, we have been able to learn the HTC M7 will pack a large 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display, which will probably support full HD (1080p) resolution.

The smartphone will be equipped with a powerful quad-core Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon processor, though the frequency value is still unknown.

Last but not least, HTC M7 will boast a 13-megapixel rear photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. It is likely to integrate ImageSense technology for better images. It is also worth mentioning the M7 will feature a unibody aluminum casing.

According to the latest hearsay, HTC is working with casing and semiconductor suppliers in order to secure the components required to manufacture around 4-5 million M7 units. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
