A new Android-based mobile phone is now available for purchase in India, the latest news around the web reports. It's the HTC Legend, a device unveiled during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which joins hands with Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and the Motorola Milestone, two handsets running under Google's mobile operating system, both on sale in the country at the moment.

The HTC Legend sports a unique form factor, as it has been built from a single block of aluminum. Its unibody frame is coupled with a 3.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with support for multi-touch, just as its predecessor, the HTC Hero, includes. On the back, the new device sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper with flash, while offering an optical trackpad on the front, which replaces the older trackball.

According to a post on cellpassion, mobile phone users in India are now able to purchase the HTC Legend for Rs 26,500, though the official price tag for the device hasn't been unveiled yet. The mobile phone is powered by the Android 2.1 version of Google's OS, and it offers additional features like Wi-Fi connectivity options, built-in GPS receiver, and more.

In addition to the new Android phone, Indian phone users can enjoy the Huawei U7510, a handset powered by Qualcomm's Brew MP operating system. Boasting a QVGA touchscreen display, a 2-megapixel photo snapper, multimedia features like stereo FM radio and MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity options and more, the handset is now on sale via BSNL for only 6,500 INR (around $145).

The Huawei U7510 comes with 100MB of internal memory, but users can add up to 8GB of additional storage space via the handset's microSD memory card slot. BSNL has the phone available for purchase with a 3G package that provides users with 25MB of free data usage during the first two months of their contract.
