Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is already known to be working on a great deal of new handsets for the next year, with most of them being included in the company's Android offering. A recently leaked roadmap from the company showed us what devices to expect from HTC with Google's mobile operating system on board during the first quarter of the next year, and one of those mobile phones has just popped up again into the wild: HTC Legend.

Not only did the phone leaked along with the rest of the company's handsets fro the first half of the next year, but its name also emerged previously in a leaked list of HTC Android phones, found in an Android 2.1 ROM for the HTC Hero. Moreover, now a new image with it is available, courtesy of the guys over at ai.rs, as well as a series of specifications on the phone, which go pretty well with what we've heard before on it.

According to the news, it seems that the HTC Legend is set to arrive on the market in the same Magic-Hero series you should already be familiar with. It comes with a stylish design, is said to be only 11.4 mm thick, sports the company's Sense solution, and packs inside a Qualcomm MSM7227 processor, which is expected to run a little faster than the CPU of most Android devices out there: 600 MHz vs 528 MHz.

The HTC Legend should also feature a 3.2-inch AMOLED HVGA touchscreen display with support for 16 million colors, a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and flash, GPS/aGPS, a microSDHC memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, and is said to replace the trackball with an optical mouse.

Other currently known specs of the device include 112 x 56.3 x 11.5mm in size, 512MB of ROM and 256MB of RAM, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio, MicroUSB for charging, G-sensor, and a 1300mAh battery. The HTC Legend should hit the shelves sometime in March, it seems, included in the company's Design and Lifestyle category of handsets.
