Mobile phone users in Canada have now a new Android-based device available for them in the country, namely the HTC Legend. Powered by Google's Android 2.1 operating system, the new device was recently launched on Virgin Mobile's airwaves, priced at only $79.99 upon the signing of a three-year contract agreement with the carrier, and going for $349.99 with no contract service.

“The HTC Legend delivers all the power of Android in one killer package. You get seamless multi-tasking, super quick mobile web browsing, completely customizable multiple home screens, a huge selections of apps, and fully integrated Google apps like Gmail, Google Maps, and way more,” the wireless carrier notes on its website. However, the company adds that the phone cannot be purchased in Saskatchewan and Manitoba for the time being, due to network differences.

In case there are some yet unfamiliar with what the HTC Legend has to offer, we should mention a 3.2-inch capacitive AMOLED touchscreen display that boasts a 320 x 480 pixel resolution, a 5-megapixel photo snapper with video recording capabilities, a 600Mhz Qualcomm processor, or the possibility to expand the available memory through microSD memory cards of up to 32GB.

At the same time, the HTC Legend sports an aluminum unibody construction, as its casing has been manufactured from a single piece of metal, HTC’s Sense user experience solution loaded on top of Google's Android 2.1 OS, an optical trackpad, and a nice range of connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth 2.1, micro-USB, a 3.5 mm headset jack, and built-in GPS receiver.

The HTC Legend is one of the nicest Android-based devices the Taiwan-based mobile phone maker pushed to the market during the ongoing year and, even if it does not come as a high-end handset, it still includes a nice range of features that can enhance the experience it offers to users. Those interested in the phone should head over to Virgin Mobile's website to learn more on it.
