14 DAY TRIAL // It appears that HTC does not show any signs of recovery, as the company has silently laid off 30 employees and contractors from its HTC America division.
HTC America had around 150 employees, which means about 20% of the US workforce was fired recently. Even though the company did not make any comment initially, the folks over at The Verge were able to obtain a letter from President of HTC Americas, Jason Mackenzie.
According to this letter, the reasons behind the layoffs is that “our business results are not where we want them to be.”
Mackenzie states in the letter that the company “would treat the impacted employees with the respect they deserved and provide them with resources to help bridge them to their next opportunity.” You can find the HTC's full statement at The Verge.
