Taiwan-based mobile phone maker has just announced the release of a new smartphone on the market in China, the HTC T9199 双擎. This is the first device HTC and China Telecom release for Chinese consumers, and was packed with an intuitive user experience, as well as with great applications and services.

The new HTC T9199 双擎 (according to Google Translate that means "Dual Engine") sports a 4.3-inch wide cinematic display, a Qualcomm 8650 Snapdragon 1GHz processor, and runs under the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS (basically, it appears to be the HTC HD2 for the Chinese market).

The new device also comes with HTC Sense, and should offer a great experience to all users through putting them at the center of their mobile communication

The quad-band smartphone was developed mainly for business consumers, and offers support for CDMA-2000 and GSM networks, along with other high-end capabilities.

The new device also comes with support for China Telecom’s leading Tianyi 3G network, while providing users with access to application store, music, services and more.

“Consumers are at the heart of HTC’s “quietly brilliant” brand philosophy, and we will continue to devote greater resources to offering the best possible user experience and the most innovative smartphone to China consumers,” Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation, said.

“HTC will continue to work with China Telecom and close partners like Microsoft and Qualcomm, to create innovative smartphones which enhance the mobile experience for China smartphone users.”

The Chinese wireless carrier says that the new HTC smartphone would certainly appeal a lot to its customers, and notes that it is working together with HTC and partners for enhancing even more the experience users receive.

The carrier would put in place an extensive marketing and distribution campaign for the handset's release, through which it would increase the awareness of Chinese consumers on 3G smartphones.

No specific info on the handset's arrival or on its price tag was unveiled for the time being.
